How many semesters do you have in premary school and high school in your country?

In China,we usually have two semesters in one school year. One is open in September 1st and another one is open in late February or early March. How about yours?

Hello, I am from Texas, USA.

In elementary school (primary) we had two semesters, though we did not refer to them as that. 1st was before winter break and 2nd was after. My high school had the same format 👍

At my college we have 18 week semesters.

In university we call it "semester", this word.

In school there is a Russian word which means "half a year" and another Russian word which means "quarter". So it is 2 or 4 of them, depending on how you count:)

There are vacations in between.
Summer vacation in my high-school started about 20 May and ended 1st september. I don't know what it is now.
Lessons are 6 days a week... And about 5 lessons a day in high school. This is the main difference with China: more free time.

I live in Brazil and here we start to study the first semester in February and it goes from february until june. July is our winter vacation and students come back after 30 days off to start again but now its the second semester whose start in August and goes until the end of November. Our summer vacation starts in december and finish around 15 th february. Primary school has 9 years with 2 semester each one. Our college has 3 years with 2 semester each one. After college , we go to the university
