EL REFRÁN
Si el río suena es porque piedras trae
Significado: se usa para decir que si se escuchan rumores, es por que algo de cierto tienen.
Ejemplo: Todos dicen que el Leonardo está saliendo con la Luisa en secreto, bueno si el rió suena es poEl río: the river
Sonar: to make a sound
Porque: because
La piedra: the stone
Traer: to bring
Literally it says: If the river makes a noise it’s because it brings stones.
Basically it means that if you hear some rumours, then there must be some truth to them.
Be careful with the difference between Sonar (to make a sound) and Soñar (to dream)
