What is the meaning of "make the cut"? How to use in spoken language?
 1) Out of a pool of twenty applicants, only 3 made the cut. ( What meaning??)

2) <em style="color: rgb(44, 53, 60);">Some say if </em><a href="https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Pluto" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" style="color: rgb(19, 79, 230); background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);"><em>Pluto</em></a><em style="color: rgb(44, 53, 60);"> were discovered today instead of 75 years ago, it woundn't make the cut.</em>

<em style="color: rgb(44, 53, 60);">3) The young player did not make the cut and was unable to join the team that year.</em>

When you "don't make the cut," you don't meet the standards or requirements.
