It depends on which language you speak. Since I speak Portuguese the Easiest language for me is Spanish, but the Romance Languages have similarities among them. So, in theory, I should learn one of them, but I prefer learning English because I am exposed to it every day in my life.

So far learning Mandarin has been easier than Spanish as a native English speaker.

<em>Do </em>most people think their mother tongue is easiest to learn? My experience is actually that people want to talk about how difficult their native language is.

@Paul Barrett Hebrew is one of the most logical languages around. Once you get over the alphabet hurdle, I'd say it's one of the easiest languages to learn. There are only three tenses - past, present, and future. No complicated "I do", "I am doing", "I did", "I have done"... To say "should I do this?" you'd say the Hebrew equivalent of "I will do this?"
