It was basically forced on me to learn English since the third grade. I suppose it was the government policy to incorporate English into our curriculum as a second language for all the kids. Luckily, my mom spoke English for her work and I was around English since I was a little kid. Then, I came over to U.S. to study when I graduated from middle school. Since then, I have been speaking English. I'd say English was my survival skill to get a higher education degree lol... Sad indeed, but now that I'm in love with an extraordinarily intelligent native speaker... it definitely helps me broadening my limit of English vocabs haha. So... yeah. :) 

Thanks for all your comments guys! So it seems there are a broad range of reasons why we study English. From falling in love to professional and academic reasons! But with our growing global community it seems that learning English is only going to get more and more important in terms of global communication, whether we like it or not!

I like this language.I don't speak well now but I wish . 

since in china , whatever u do ,there is one thing called national university entrance exam u have to take ,so no chioce we have left ,. English is of an vital part .

first, I like this language and with English you can talk to people around the world and it opens up opportunities.
