I even have a copy of the Lord of the Rings in Italian, so if you buy both the English and the Italian language versions of the book, then you can read the same chapter in the Italian book to figure out what is going on in English roughly. You can pretty much get the English language versions anywhere. :)
If you have access to a BBC channel in Italy, listen to it for awhile to see if they give you some desirable information.
