Do you have the Spanish keyboard that comes with the computer? If not, go to control panel and there should be a language section where you can change languages.

if you are using a spanish keyboard you shouldn't have problems with accents. Maybe the problem is in your italki settings. Try to enable spanish language as default.

In tablets and smartphones extended characters appear when ypu press the key for some seconds. In some keyboard apps need to enable this functionality.

Sorry me! :-/ I meant O.S. "operating system" and I also mistyped. Anyhow, usually, the keyboard reports only the 'position' of the key you press, the layout is defined in the setup of your PC, tablet, etc... 

I'm having the same problem, not only on italki, but trying to write Spanish anywhere. I have tried loads of different Spanish keyboards provided on my laptop settings, but can I get any of them to type the accents...Noooo!

it is an external keyboard so to speak but came as part of a package with the tablet. The onscreen keyboard does have the function to add accents but is time comsuming adding then and I would much prefer to be able to type.
