“宝宝”can only describe newborn baby or infantile，can point human and animals.

But 宝贝 can use in many aspects,for example,you can express you intimate to who you love.Maybe he is your familiy or lover.What's more.It can describe the thing you love which is non-living things.Such as you love one singer，his album is your “宝贝”.Everything you treasure all can use “宝贝”。

宝宝可以用来形容婴儿  宝贝可以用来称呼你喜欢的东西和你的恋人 他们都可以用来称呼你的恋人  但称呼你的恋爱为宝宝听起来更亲密  也更让别人觉得恶心

宝贝应该是precious/treasure/dear (心爱之物或人). 例如太监的宝贝, 贵重的宝贝, 宝贝啊! 等.  

基本上寶貝就是baby，跟英文一樣用於形容心愛物件外，但在中文裡有時候也會用來當動詞用ww

寶寶的話，一般指人類嬰兒或是剛出生的小動物，我會用infant來解釋XD~
