Ba Khia: a kind of crab This noon, I was served a meal with Ba Khia a kind of crab which is small and lives in bank of river of Mekong delta. For a long time, I haven't eaten it. During lunch time, I seemed to see our childhood with simple meals in rice field . As a child, people used to buy it because of reasonable price and suitable for everyone. Above all, there were so many in the riverside. Ba Khia filled with salt for a week or less then coming to market for selling. Especially on the October,It is sold everywhere in local market. With some start fruit, chili and parsley my mother could make a tasty dish for us. It is more delicious in cold day. Nowadays, It is no longer popular dish because its price becomes more expensive. Ba Khia also is less than before. They seldom sell it in local market anymore. My mother reminds me about it whether in season of Ba Khia. if you have a chance in Mekong delta, Let try it once.

When I was a child, people used to buy it because it was a reasonable price and suitable for everyone. Above all, there were so many in the riverside. Ba Khia was filled with salt for a week or less then brought to market to be sold. Especially in October, it was sold everywhere in local markets. With some start fruit, chili and parsley my mother could make a tasty dish for us. It is more delicious on a cold day.
Nowadays, It is no longer a popular dish because its price has become more expensive. Ba Khia is also scarcer than before. They seldom sell it in local markets anymore. My mother reminds me about it whether in season of during the Ba Khia season.
