Writing Some people think that some subjects such as mathematics and philosophy are too difficult for children to learn at school. They think that these subjects should be made optional rather than compulsory. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Content: The increasing numbers of subjects have brought a variety of choices to accept education. Some individuals believe that theoretical courses beyond the understanding of children which should be made optional ones, while others point out these subjects are an ideal alternative to obtain knowledge and have withstood the test of time. As far as I am concerned, the view that mathematics and philosophy are not significant sounds ridiculous. Mathematics and philosophy create more opportunities to allow students to develop their thinking ability. Though studying these courses children can improve the ability of abstract ideation, logic reasoning and solving practice problems promptly and effectively. In addition, the correct outlook and values which are very essential factors can also be established. In contrast, if these important subjects are made optional, children tend to learn practice ones only and lose interest in study and then fail to address common issues properly. It is well-known that children accept new knowledge more quickly than adolescents and adults. Hence, the theoretical things should be taught when they are young. In schools, children may ask for help from teachers and classmates so the problems they meet may be coped with. However, ifchildren avoid choosing to learn these courses, they will lose the best time to master them. Admittedly, practical knowledge offers children more hands-on experiences than theoretical ones and due to the fact that they are easier to master and can receive certain results directly. Obvious though the benefits brought by practical learning are. It is just a complementary part of schooling. To sum up, the role of mathematics and philosophy can never be replaced and I convinced that children are required to learn various subjects for their future development.
