A puma at large (by Who If)
Pumas are large, cat-like animals which are found in America. When report came into London Animal Protection Centre that an injured wild puma had been spotted forty-five miles south of London, they were taken seriously. The investigator was sent soon. The breakthrough was made in a small village where a woman picking blackberries saw ‘a ensanguined bullet’ under a dead tree. It aroused the suspicion that this injured animal was hunted by a group of poacher. A special team was formed by the police. As evidence accumulate, the police was obliged to hunt either the puma or the suspects. Meanwhile the safety of the villagers was concerned as no one could ensure that the hungry injured animal wouldn’t attack a human being when it is cornered. The search proved difficult for both the puma and the suspects have no such a hobby to stay in the same place too long. However, the clue was increasing. Trails of man-made derelict was easily found as well as the peg prints. Even a rag of tent was found clinging to bushes. The hunt went on for several weeks, but the targets were still missing. It is disturbing to thinking that a puma was still at large in the quiet countryside for both the villagers and the animal protectors.
