Yalda Night ( شب یلدا ) Tonight is Yalda night.Yalda is the Persian winter solstice celebration, which has been popular since the ancient times. Yalda is the longest night of the year.Yalda is one of the Zorostrian and Ancien Iranian traditions. In Yalda night families and relatives gather around in the oldest member of the family (as Grandparent's house) and celebrate it together. Certain fruits and stuffs serves tonight.People sit around Korsi (Korsi is like avery short table that has blanket on it and under it is warm by gas heater or coal.people put the blanket on their feet and put their feet under the table.) and talk to each other, joke, read Hafez, and eat the stuffs on the table. we eat pomegranate, watermelon and trail mix at Yalda.Drinking Shiraz (syrah) wine was also a tradition at Yalda. The night is a magically poet night.A favorite part of Yalda night is divination by Divan of Hafez. (Fal e Hafez) Grandpa reads accidentally opens the hafez book and read the poem of the page that he opened for the person he wanted to know his fal ( Divination kind of). Grandpa does this for all family members. It's so much fun. In this night people stay awake most of the night and spend it with the people they love. So, Happy Yalda! In On Yalda night families and relatives gather around at in the oldest member of the family's home (as Grandparent's house) and celebrate it together.


Certain fruits and stuffs serves tonight foods are served. People sit around a Korsi (a Korsi is like a very short table that has a blanket on over it and under it is warm is warmed by a gas heater or coal.; people put the blanket on their feet and put their feet under the table.) and talk to each other, joke, read Hafez, and eat the stuffs food on the table.


We eat pomegranate, watermelon and trail mix at Yalda. Drinking Shiraz (Syrah) wine was is also a tradition at Yalda.

Grandpa reads accidentally randomly opens the hafez book, and he reads the poem on the page that he opened for the person he wants to know his fal (kind of like a fortune teller Divination kind of). Grandpa does this for all family members. It's so much fun.
