Home Eudcation vs School Education Yet another IELTS writing task II. Anyone volunteers to help? Thank you very much in advance. Question: Some people believe that teaching children at home is best for a child’s development while others think that it is important for children to go to school. Answer: In general, most Chinese parents send their children to schools to study. Some, however, believe that educating children at home can also be a good idea. Which one is better for children’s development? The advantages for children to learning in schools are obvious. To begin with, teachers in schools are trained professionals specializing in this area. They not only have the knowledge of the subjects they teach, but also the experiences of coping with a large number of children. Secondly, since no individual can be good at all subjects, it is a big challenge for parents to teach all subjects. But different teachers in schools possess different expertise of a wide range of fields, so they are more competent. Lastly, in schools, children have the opportunities to play with their peers similar in age, which brings them a lot of pleasure. Meanwhile, they can learn to socialize with their classmates, and this skill is essential to their adult life. On the other hand, sometimes learning at home is more favourable to children. In many remote and impoverished villages in China, for example, it is unaffordable or unpractical to send children to schools. In that case, home-based education is the only solution. Besides, some parents believe that they are more reliable than teachers. Teachers occasionally make mistakes and are unwilling to confess, but most parents will for the sake of their children. They are also worried that their children can be neglected or bullied in schools. Moreover, in homes, children can enjoy more love from their families. This can help to nourish children’s sense of belonging and to enhance cooperation and friendship between siblings. When they grow up, they can help each other better. Because siblings are the most reliable friends in the world, it is wise to build the do solidarity in their youth. In conclusion, there is no pat answer to the question which one is better. Parents should consider the merits of both options carefully before making a decision.

Great work.

Comments: "have the experiences" is not wrong, but does not read as  well.

Having experience of teaching many children does no0t seem relevant to teaching 1 child at home.

to socialize with their classmates, and this skill is essential to their adult life. OK

to socialize with their classmates a skill essential to their adult life. <-- maybe better

You can "send children to schools", but "send children to school" seems better, unless you want to stress that there are multiple schools.

One of my relatives, who had a good job, once quit to take care of her daughter. The girl (Katie) went to kindergarten at the age of three as most kids in Taiwan. However, Katie's health contidition was not good enough to go to school every day. Though Katie's parents hired a nurse to take care of her, Katie's mother insisted to teach Katei herself. Now, Katie is a major of physics at the most famous university in Taiwan and she has translated three books from English into Chinese. Her first work was done at the age of eleven.

Great article! I like the idea of sending children to school so they can react with other children, and you can still teach them new things at home even if they attend school.
