Why are Westerners so gullible to Charlatans?? Today I read about an Indian Charlatan Monk who had a lot of western followers. I was shocked to understand that as early as 70s and 80s he almost had some millions of Western , American and European followers. No doubt India is the Land of Spirituality and Philosophy but it is common sense that not every Indian or every Indian wearing a saffron robe is the so called " Enlightened One' or the Messaiah . In India it is easy to fool people around acting god and it is quite understandable from the point that the majority of the followers are illiterate and uneducated vulnerable poverty stricken ignorants. What is surprising is , the West ,especially USA known for its rationality and scientific developments also has so many gullible people who prostrate before such morons who declare themselves as Messenger of God. While the great saints like Swami Vivekananda and Kanchi Paramacharya have made the foundation of Hinduism strong and everlasting , both in India and Foreign countries a thousand of moron charlatan Swamijis or Gurus had made their palaces built everywhere in America and Europe. While I feel proud about my Indian ancestry and cultural heritage , I still feel that the name of Real Swamijis and Enlightened Gurujis is being spoiled by the charlatan monks.
