牡丹花 The Peony

It is May and the peony is blossoming. When I first saw it, I was stunned/shaken/amazed/awed by its beauty. Great petals heaping heavily upon one and another. Red peonies represent fiery passion, the white ones pure as jade and the pink akin to rosy evening clouds. No matter what, they all radiate in their glorious beauty. The blooms can reach up to 30 cm in diameter. This represents the immensity of the heart. I like the lotus but its lofty beauty puts me at a distance. I can only gaze it from afar. A peony can be near me. I can admire its stamen/pistil up close by lowering myself to it and enjoy its fragrance as well. Or perhaps, a kiss to it. Hence the peony is so much more approachable than the lotus.
The choice of being China's national flower is still being contended by the peony and the plum blossom. If I were to choose between the two, I would pick the poeny; for the cold and haughty beauty of the plum blooming in cold solitude strikes me with too great of awe and reverence. Its blooms are small compared to the peony. Thus the word, "generosity" enters not into my mind.
Possessing empire collasping beauty,
Yet with a heart of immensity.

The peony blooms in May. I was shocked by their beauty when I saw them for the first time. Their great petals were overlapping, the red symbolized the fire of the passion, the white like the jade, the pink were the rosy clouds.
The diameter of the peony is 30 cm, so they have vast mind. I like the lotus flower, but their pride makes them hard to approach. I can only watch them from far away. The peony blossom is at my side. I can appreciate their stamens, smell their fragrance, kiss their petals. The peony is more approachable than the lotus.
My choice of Chinese's national flower would either be the peony or the plum blossom. (是你自己要它們當國花嗎?) If I had to choose from the two, it would be the peony. The adamancy of plum blossom awes me, but its flower is smaller than the peony. The peony remind me of the world's open-mindedness, broad and profound.
It gives off appearance of startling beauty, tolerant heart, and approachable attitude, bringing love to the world.
If you had to choose the national flower of China, which one would you pick?

I can noly watch only view them from a far away. I can view the peony blossom close up without having to pluck them. at my side. I can appreciate the beauty of their stamens, smell their fragrance and kiss their petals. Thus the peony is more approachable than the lotus.
The choice of being China's Chinese's national flower hesitate in is narrowed down to the peony and the plum blossom. If I were to pick one ,it would be the peony. The adamancy of plum blossom made me awed, is bewildering to me but the flowers/blooms is are smaller than the peony's. The peony reminds me of the words, "open-mindedness", broad "generous" and "profound".
An appearance of The startling beauty of the peony represents a tolerant heart, an approachable attitude, and of bringing love to the world in Chinese culture.
