There's amusing to hear:" are you from Russia?! mmmm. mmmmm or Wow !" What does this mean? Let me guess.... It means that the head is born stable chain of associations: Russia/ vodka / Bears .. .. red square, the Soviet Union/ snow and then( maybe ) Dostoyevsky, Tchaikovsky, Stanislavski e .t.c.

I agree with you. we know about the world through TV's.they don't show the real life of citizen. The stereotypes and prejudices fall when you have contact with people and have change of culture. I'm brazilian , foreigners think brazil only soccer, carnival and beaches, maybe wrong stereotypes like here speak Spanish for example.
I have stereotypes about Canadian and Arabic people (i know the TV show), but I start to chat with them on internet I discovery that I was wrong. good text.

Very interesting, I think you should make this as a discussion. I am sick of some people here who judge people according to what they saw in TV programs and news (I hate this). I am keen to see what the people think about this. Thank you
