Conversation about the different culture L : Good morning Tharin. T : good morning l How are you today ? L : I'm fine but today I have a lot of work to do for English. T : What are you working on specifically ? L : The difference between European culture and Asian culture. Do you come from Thailand? I think you can help me with my work. T : OK , no problem. L : I would like to know about your life in Thailand, can you tell me about it ? T : I was born in Nakhon si thammarat , in southern Thailand. I lived with my parents and 2 sisters L : Can you tell me your school, normally what time does school start and finish ? T : Normally, my school started at 8h00 and finished at 16h00 but some school finish late. In high school students can choose between science and art option, they study during 3 years. And you? L: In my high school, I chose art and history option because I was really interested in history. By the way, I would like to know your opinion about French culture. Is it different from the Thai culture? T : In my opinion, the French culture is different from the Thai culture, I have lived in France for one year, the grand difference is about the vocation, I'm so surprise that in France, there many vacation week and French people really like to travel and relax during the vacation week. L : Yes, French people like to take a vacation for relaxing but some French family don't take a vacation. And have you the other opinion? T : In addition, I have a good impression with the French table manner, I noticed that French people concentrate on enjoying and savouring their meals. They take a long time to talk before heading on to the next meal. L : Yes, I agree with you, when I have a dinner with my family, we take about 2 or 3 hours , it's a long time but I think it's good time for talking and relaxing between family members. T : I noticed also French people eat three things for one meal, they have a starter, main course and dessert but Thai people eat just one thing, they eat only main course and sometime with a dessert. L : I have learnt many things in Thai culture, I think Thai culture and French culture have a many difference but I think also Thai culture is interesting and it doesn't difficult to learn.
