Week 7 (part 1)
On Tuesday I did a test run of my new pair of Kelenji running shoes Kalenji, which I had bought at the Decathlon sports discounter “Decathlon” for a temporary replacement of my other new pair of ASICS Kayano 20 that in turn I bought online on/through the Internet. So until I get my ASICS for about $150, I will run in my Kalenjis for $15. That day I ran 15 km, and I have to admit that I felt pretty good.
On Thursday it was the day of my second MAF test two day. I was entitled to expect a result which was better than the result of my first MAF test one. I had done a lot of work before the second test. But I was wrong. I ran that MAF test run slower and with a faster heart rate. Can it really be true that I made no progress from my training? I don't think it's exactly that. The conditions of those two tests were rather different. Firstly, I ran in different pairs of shoes. I think that might be reflected in my results. Secondly, and it was more importantly, the weather conditions were absolutely different. My first test run was on the asphalt. The wind was blowing at 3 m/s. It was snowing during my second run. It was like a snow pillow under my feet. The wind was blowing at 6 m/s. It blew in my face when I ran uphill. So the results of these two tests are not quite comparable to each other. Let’s look at a result of my third MAF test which I am planning to run in late January.
I like to run through the snow at 5 a.m. That way I finish my run before my brain knows what I'm doing!!
