Supposing the government decided to cut off all electricity supplies for one day Supposing the government decided to cut off all electricity supplies for one day, how would your life be affected? Give examples. I think it would be impossible that the government do that because a lot of things would go wrong. Definitely, the country would stop. About my life could be very affected. The best thing would be that I couldn´t go to work, so free day for me. I think one day without electricity would be very hard for me, but I´m going to try imagine how I could enjoy that day: - The tv or the computer wouldn´t work, so I could meet up with family and friends, and spend more time with them. - I also could visit places of Madrid that I don´t know because “I have no time now” - The mobile phone wouldn´t be on too much time without electricity, so If I want to talk my friends, instead of whatsapp, I call them by landline. - I couldn’t cook anything and it´s one of my favourite hobbies, so I would make for lunch a special sandwich or salad. About the world life, it would be worse, because the lack of electricity would affect more. For example: - People couldn´t open their business. Most of the shops couldn´t open the gate, because it usually needs electricity, or couldn´t turn on the light to see the staff inside. - Hospitals couldn´t work, anything needs electricity to work correctly. The doors, the computers, the lights…hospitals might to close! - Schools might open because they can read books with daylight without artificial lights, computers or any kind of electricity supply. - People who live in very high floors should go down and up by walking but what about elderly people? Or people who live on a 15th floor? For all these reason and more, I think the government couldn´t do this. At least, they should ensure electricity supply for hospitals.

Supposing the government decided to cut off all electricity supplies for one day

Supposing the government decided to cut off all electricity supplies for one day, how would your life be affected? Give examples.

I think it would be impossible that the government do that because a lot of things would go wrong. Definitely, the country would stop.
About My life would be very affected. The best thing would be that I couldn´t go to work, so a free day off for me. I think one day without electricity would be very hard for me, but I´m going to try to imagine how I could enjoy that day:
- The tv or the computer wouldn´t work, so I could meet up with family and friends, and spend more time with them.
- I could also visit places of in Madrid that I don´t know because “I have no time now”.
- The mobile phone wouldn´t be on too much time without electricity, so if I wanted to talk to my friends, instead of whatsapp, I would have to call them by landline.
- I couldn’t cook anything and it´s one of my favourite hobbies, so I would make a special sandwich or salad for lunch.
About the world life for the rest of the people, it would be worse, because the lack of electricity would affect them more. For example:
- People couldn´t open their businesses. Most of the shops couldn´t open the gate, because it usually needs electricity, or couldn´t turn on the light to see the staff inside.
- Hospitals couldn´t work, anything that needs electricity to work correctly. The doors, the computers, the lights…hospitals might have to close!
- Schools might open because they can read books with daylight without artificial lights, computers or any kind of electricity supply.
- People who live on very high floors would have to go walk down and up by walking but what about elderly people? Or people who live on a 15th floor?
For all these reasons and more, I think the government couldn´t do this. At least, they should ensure electricity supplies for hospitals.

Not too bad, Nati.

This should all be in the conditional form, since it is imagining a situation. Really we should say, "People wouldn't be able to open their businesses".

Sigue practicando.

Saludos,

Simón.
