Pressure(comment or revise)

I'm a Chinese colloge student and I feel strong pressure, since 700 millions(or 7 million?) Chinese college students graduate in China per year.
I grew up in the countryside in the enviroment that majority just want money and boast the rich, so I became materialistic and lose (lose what?). I may be able to live my own life, but I'm not going along with my lover, family, and friends. So I have to compete. i think that possession of English skills may improve my competitive capacity.
