A progress in improving speed of typing

I have used a computer for learning and entertainment for many years. However, from the very beginning, I had adopted an inappropriate way to type of typing. Using only my two index fingers to type really limited my typing speed. So, I was looking forward to a change in the way of typing.

One month ago, I learned the right way to type on the Internet. The way is to make use of every fingers. And each finger is in charge of a special area of the keyboard.
At the same time, we 'd better don't shouldn't always look at the keyboard but the screen.

After insisting? on the right way of typing, I have made a big progress in the speed of typing.

Hi Alex, again mainly understandable with just a few points mainly in use of the language rather than real problems.

The only word I am not sure is correct is 'insisting' in the last part. Normally other people insist on you doing something. (They tell you to do something) Perhaps '...discovering the right way of typing... may be better.
