"The Great Gatsby"
Do you like reading books? I really like it! I try to read everyday. Yesterday I finished reading a very interesting book. It is called "The Great Gatsby." It is a novel written by American author Francis Scott Fitzgerald. The story concerns James "Jimmy" Gatz (known as Jay Gatsby), the young millionaire. His house is always full of people, he likes big parties with a lot of alcohol, but he never drinks; people in his parties always laugh and have fun, but he is very concentrated and serious all the time. Gatsby is a very mysterious person. Nobody knows anything about his past and the way how he earned his money. He lives in the Jazz Age - the period in which jazz music and dance became popular. Does his life look like a jazz song? Yes, but very sad one.
Although Gatsby was surrounded by the bright and posh life, he was absolutely unhappy. For a long time this selfish, pompous guy (as many people thought about him) was in love with a woman, Daisy Buchanan. In order to see her everyday, he even bought a house near to her. They had a romantic relationship before he went to war. She waited for Gatsby, but when he didn't return, Daisy eventually married Tom.
When she met Gatsby again at Nick's place (he is the first-person narrator of the novel) they decided to renew their relationship.
But Daisy is still Daisy. She is a pretty perfidious person for me. For example, two people died because of her. And did she feel guilty? Not at all. She could continue her carefree life. Gatsby couldn't. He was killed by George, the Myrtle's husband. That guy thought that the accident with his wife happened when Gatsby drove the car, but Daisy did it. However, Gatsby didn't tell anyone except Nick about it.
The bright life of the young, charming and rich guy ended. Does it make any sense? This love, this relationship was a profanation, wasn't it? But only from Daisy's side. Gatsby felt the most important feeling in the world - real love. And being without Daisy meant death for him.
Without her he would die anyway- physically or mentally. (it is better not too many sentences with words like so)
Hope this helps! Very nice!
