I heard bad news from one of my friends. She said their kids were robbed when their grandfather took them out to a public park in her hometown, China. Government and police are taking effective measures to avoid this happening again. Do u think it is possible to reduce the rate of crimes involving children?

I heard some bad news from one of my friends. She said that frequently kids are frequently robbed when they visit the park near their hometown with their grandfather. Government and police are taking measures to avoid this from happening in the future. Do you think it is possible to reduce the robbery rate?

It is certainly possible. There are two ways to fight the issue I suppose. One is stricter punishments(police/LE) and the other is improving the community as a whole through education and public programs. I suppose the latter would fall on the government. In my opinion it comes down to making the robbery too dangerous for the criminals.
