The increasing growth of the number of private cars leads to severe problems that individuals and society should be concerned by. It is undeniable that cars bring in a lot of conveniences for people’s life, but what suffer more are the harmful consequences accompanied with the over relying on private cars. It should be admitted that air pollution is mostly due to the increase of private cars. Not only carbon dioxide, also particulate matter are both emitted by vehicles. They are the main courses of bad air quantity. Another problem that caused by private cars is traffic congestion, especially in those cities which excessive private cars are employed in rush hours. What’s more, large numbers of victims in the accidents is one more aspect should be considered. As all we can see from newspapers and news reports, the number of victims in the car accidents has been increasing since the excessive use of private cars, even if some countries issued a variety of measures and laws to transportation. The question of how to solve the problems mentioned above is debated. Some people believe that petrol cars should be replaced by cleaner cars, such as electronic cars, will contribute to preventing the unoptimistic condition from being worse. But I insist that the most effective measure is the reduction of the number of private cars, and to encourage more people to pursue public transportations. Although many disadvantages come up with over use of private cars, the convenience and other benefits cannot be ignored. What should be thought about more is to find a balance between cars and life.
