I would like to learn Japanese because I would like to teach English [as an ALT] at a Japanese school [and I feel being skilled in the language would make this experience much more rewarding]. My Japanese is still not very good, but I'm trying to improve. I am fascinated by Japanese culture and history, and I feel that this (along with my desire to be a language educator and fascination with linguistics in general) is what has driven me to pursue this goal. Thank you for taking the time to read this! All corrections and comments are appreciated.

I learn Japanese. ->  I am learning Japanese. The former is grammatically correct but rarely used.

changed to the polite version since the whole sentence is written in a polite way (敬語 keigo).

Grammatically correct, but a bit strange collocation in the Japanese language.
