Last summer I went to Tuscany with my family. We went down there in our campervan and we stayed in a very equipped camping near the sea. We carried with us our dog. We spent 15 days there. The sea and the beach were marvellous. Our children often remind that beautiful holiday we spent together. The only thing I didn't like so much was that the camping was far away from the centre of the nearest town, so we hadn't been going outside the camping for 15 days. Anyway, it has been a beautiful holiday.

The sea and the beach were marvellous. Our children often remind us what a beautiful holiday we had together. The only thing I didn't like so much was that the campsite was far from the centre of the nearest town, so we didn't leave the campsite for 15 days. Anyway, it was a beautiful holiday.

Ciao Annamaria. "Carry" sounds like you had to hold your dog in your arms. You could say "far away" if you did not give any specific details. We wouldn't really use the past continuous unless you wanted to talk about a second thing that happened during that time. Keep practicing!
