What do the words boyfriend/girlfriend mean to you?
So many people have different meanings for the word. Does it simply mean a friend that is a boy/girl or something more?

As a Chinese, the words boyfriend/girlfriend means he/she is "my" sweet heart .
But they didn't marry.

boyfriend= a boy/man whom I go out with and am in a loving relationship with.
 girlfriend= a girl/woman whom I go out with and am in a loving relationship with.

A Boyfriend or Girlfriend is a person that is just not in a relationship with you. The person is being your best friend in the relationship either. ;)

 but  GIRLFRIEND  is used for a friend
