1. Dial number 2. Ask the price of a car from A to B 3. Laugh hysterically and try not to faint with shock 4. Hang up 5. Take a bus instead. "Hello, can I order a car from A to B in half and hour, please?" .. "How much will it cost, please?" .. "OK, that's fine. Yes, my address is .... and my telephone number is ..." .. "Yes, in half an hour. Please don't be late. Thank you." One Hour Later ... "Hello, I ordered a car for half an hour ago, where is it?" .. "What do you mean, you don't have a booking from my address??" ... etc

"Hello, I need a taxi to take me to <name the place>." "I am at <give your address>" They may ask when you need the taxi. If you're in the U.S., make sure you have plenty of time. They may also ask you when you need to be at the destination, especially if it's an airport. Instead of saying when you want them to have the taxi where you are, you might say "I need to be at the airport by <give the time>". After you tell them where you are, any cab company should have a good idea when to pick you up. You can also ask "Can you tell about what the fair will be?"
