Could you explain me how "damit" is used in german language? In German text, I don't know exactly how "damit" is used. In some gramatic text book, as far as I know, "damit" is used when the man want to utter or refer the purpose of statements; it is same with "in order to" This is what I know about "damit" usage. But this word "damit" is not limited in those usage only, I guess there are so many meanings or usages. Could you tell me more about details with easy examples?

It's not easy for native speakers to just go ahead and list all meanings :-) Besides the one you mention (pronounced "daMIT", stress on second syllable) there's the nearly unrelated word "damit" = "mit diesem" (pronounce "DAmit", stress on first syllable). Ich will mit dem Hammer einen Nagel in die Wand schlagen. -> Damit (= mit dem Hammer) will ich einen Nagel in die Wand schlagen. Mit dem Mikrofon will ich etwas aufnehmen. -> Damit (= mit dem Mikrofon) will ich etwas aufnehmen. Mit der Zange will ich den Draht durchschneiden. -> Damit (= mit der Zange) will ich den Draht durchschneiden. A third meaning I can think of is to use it conclusively, like "therefore". Pronounciation is also stressed on the first syllable, but not very much. "Damit wären wir für heute fertig" = Wir sind fertig, alle können nach Hause gehen. "Damit komme ich zu dem Schluss, dass er nicht schuldig ist" = Nach der vorhergehenden Argumentation komme ich zu dem Schluss, ... Maybe there are even more.
