La diferencia es el país de origen. Mientras la comida mexicana es de México, la española es de España. Tanto en inglés como en español, la palabra "español" puede referirse al idioma o a una persona de España. The difference is the country of origin. While mexican food is from Mexico, the spanish one is from spain. Both English and Spanish, the word "spanish" can refer to the idiom or a person who comes from spain.

Mexican dishes: Pozo, mole (like Karen said), chiles en nogada, Chilaquiles!! Spain dishes: Paella, tortilla española (a round thing made of potatos), Cocido madrileño Google the recipes and you'll get a better idea...

Well, the only Spanish food I know is Paella, which is delicious btw. I'm Mexican so I can tell you that most of our dishes are fried, spicy and hot (specially hot, we love salsas and chili. I think that would be one difference. As I said before, I only know one Spanish dish, so I can't compare it with Mexican food. Anyway, if you go to one of those Mexican restaurants, try pozole, mole or tacos! :D
