They would both be ok and understood easily. However, if you wanted it to sound better you would say: I was scared by it as well or I was scared by it too.

SAMPLE SITUATION: I WAS SCARED of jumping out of the airplane. Tim WAS SCARED, TOO. Nozturk wasn't scared--at first. But then I started talking about the horrible injuries my friend Brad had suffered only last week when his parachute failed to open. Then Nozturk GOT SCARED, TOO! "to get scared" (casual), "to become scared" (formal)

I got scared of it too. Suddenly there was a flash of lightning, and a gunshot blast. Or Suddenly there was a lightning flash and a gunshot was heard.

Hi, you can say: Did you see that sudden flash of lightning? I was scared by it as well.
