'구요,' is a kind of conjunction liaising between former sentence and rear sentence.
Meaning of '구요' is "~~. and ~~" (not exactly but similar)
"~구요,"'s standard form is "~고요," and 고요, = 고(and} +요,(honorific).
EX) 시장에서 모자하고 구두를 샀어요. 그리고 점심도 먹었어요.= 시장에서 모자와 구두를 사구요, 밥도 먹었어요.
(I bought cap and shoes and also had lunch in the market.)
But if they say '시장에서 모자와 구두를 샀어요. 점심도 먹었구요", it's meaning is similar with above but it include "waiting hearer's opinion or respond" a little.

Daughter ; I bought a cap and shoes in the market.
Mom :...........
Daughter ; Also had lunch....(^_^;)
Mom : So.. how much did you spend in all? (-_-)++
딸 : 시장에서 모자랑 구두를 샀어요.
