what's the different GENTLY & SOFTLY? what's the different?gently and softly.

Many times, they would be understood as interchangeable. There is a slight difference, though. "Soft" would be more physical, with touch and lack of hardness in mind. "Gentle" would also include the mental state, implying not just softness, but care in handling, not rushed.
