I guess it depends on the type of pet - would be different for a goldfish or a shark. Or a snake or and Albatross. Or a barn owl or a beetle......... I could go on .........

Here are some Japanese names: 水 (mizu=[cold] water)、桜 (Sakura=Japanese cherry blossom)、苺 (Ichigo=strawberry)、竜 (Ryû=Dragon)、愛 (Ai=love)、苹果 (Ringo=Apple).
