Try duolingo.com! It's another great internet resource which provides you with free lessons in the basics. I'm using it with German (started from scratch), and it's been really helpful... it should give you enough phrases, vocabulary, and basic grammar to start interacting with native speakers.

The best way is to start learning the most common words that You use in English frecuently and then one noun everyday. In my case I had an American boyfriend Who helped Me a lot ;)
Good luck!
