Accountability means that your actions are answerable to others. Responsibility is a task that is assigned to you or you assigned to yourself to faithfully complete or take on.
Examples:
(1) Voters expect a certain level of accountability from their elected officials.
(2) An employees responsibility is to complete all tasks assigned to him. If he does not complete the tasks, he will be held accountable.
(3) The responsibility of a parent is to raise their children to the best of their ability.
Hope this gives you a clear explanation.
