How to say 'even so' in Chinese?

中文：即便（虽然）他的辩解很有道理，但他有必要那样表现出来吗？！
Literally，we translate “ even so ” to "虽然如此"or“即便如此”,and the emotion of 即便 is a little bit stronger than 虽然。
But when it comes to a sentence ,if there is a reason the"so" refers to ,we won't translate "虽然如此"or  "即便如此"，rather “虽然***（the reason）” or“即便***（原因）”
