when they are going to do an activity X , said ( i will go) ( voy a.... comer, dormir, salir). Does not matter, what matters is the subject, I, you, we, them. example. English yo - tú - Ud./él/ella - nosotros/as - ellos/ellas Presente I go, am going voy - vas - va - vamos - van Futuro I will go iré - irás - irá - iremos - irán

my name is juan , i'm from colombia "voy a" translate as "going to" or as gonna like you want, for example voy a desayunar ( im going to have breakfast) voy a bañerme ( im gonna take a shower) you have to use "voy a" when you wanna speak about a nearby future but you can use "voy a" also when you wanna speak about a place where you are going .for example me voy para perú el mes que viene ( im going to peru next month) me voy para el colegio(im going to school)

"VOY A" is definitly "GOING TO" i'm going to buy some vegetables-yo VOY A comprar algunas verduras. in spanish there is no difference between simple future "will" or "going to" so you can say "YO VOY A COMPRAR" as well "YO COMPRARÉ".
