Mikey's answer is good. But here we use 系(jì) for better sound. Because 戴 sounds the same as 带.

戴is better. Normally it use 佩戴 for ornaments

Hello again Beth, :-), 佩 is normally used in the old days when something is considered to be a nature part/extension of your clothes, for example the badge on a union or a sword that the soldiers carried in the old days, or the patterns on the emperors' cloak.
戴 is the one you want to use.
for example: 请把你们带上的腰带戴上。

The Chinese people used 佩 in the ancient time.Only when we talking about hats,we use 戴.the verb 系，is the right word as we use.
