The priest or person conducting a marriage ceremony asks the bride and bridegroom 'do you take this man/woman to be your etc etc. and they answer 'I do'. Once both reply 'I do' the priest declares them man and wife. So they both said 'I do' and they did become married/ have the dream wedding etc.
