'what if we can't get it done on time' or 'how if we can't get it done on time'? The deadline for the job is the end of the month, what/how if we can't get it done on time? I suppose both 'what and how' make sense -- 'what we should do if we can't get it done on time' or 'how we should do if we can't get it done on time'. I would be very grateful if you could give me some advice.

The correct way to say it is "What if we don't get it done in time?" Think of it as "What (will happen) if we don't get it done on time?"

The correct way to say this is" "What if we can't get it done on time?" = You are asking whether or not it will be done on time. " "What should we do if we can't get it done on time?" You are asking whether there is an alternative if it it is not done on time.
