On reading the question I've thought the meaning of `так как` depends upon the comma :) 1) `так как` without comma = потому что = because. (see best answer). Example: я делаю это, так как желаю увидеть результат [I'm doing it because I desire to see the result] 2) `так, как` with comma = a way as. Example: я желаю делать это так, как хочу я (а не ты) [I wish to do it the way as I want]
