What do you mean by " I'd be where he is, gone!" ?
and "I run a string of cat houses in the valley" ? This sentence I got it from Monologue titled the Glass Menagerie Tom Wingfield

The first sentence means that if Tom had his father's mentality (I assume "he" refers to Tom's father), then Tom would have left his situation as well. "I'd be gone too, just like him!"
A "cat house" is a brothel. The Valley (note the capital letter) is an area of the city.
