What's the closing expression in this letter? An examiner says "The closing expression is over-formal and adds an inappropriate tone" in the following letter. What does he or she refer to? "Looking forward to see you, as this Party gives both of us the opportunity o be good freinds."? Or "yours faithfully"? Or both? Dear neighbour, I am your new neighbour, I moved in Last week with my son, I am working as a nurse in the nearby hospital. I am planning o hold a Party, I will invite all my friends and relatives, my son also will invite his friends I would like to invite yu too, I will be happy o see you. ... Looking forward to see you, as this Party gives both of us the opportunity o be good freinds. yours faithfully,

I think the examiner is referring to 'Yours Faithfully," I wouldn't say that it's 'over-formal', but it sounds like the closing of a letter written to a lover, as in a wife or husband. I think 'Cordially,' would be more appropriate, or just 'Sincerely,'

The "yours faithfully" It's not that bad, just a little odd. I'd just say "Sincerely,"
