Does it mean that "this program is not developed under the trademark of Ethereal any more and is only developed under its new name Wireshark"?

To add a little to Michael's answer, here's what I think happened.

In mid 2006, the development team started from a copy of the Ethereal project and started developing it in a new direction and called this new "branch" Wireshark. Both projects were developed separately for a while, but then work stopped on the Ethereal branch and only Wireshark was left as an active project.

Yes, you're right.  I would just use the general word "brand" and not "trademark" unless the precise form of intellectual property is important in the context.
