Ik had het druk/Ik was het druk To say I am busy in Dutch is "Ik heb het druk" so to say I was busy is it "Ik had het druk" or "Ik was het druk"

Those are general statements though. If someone is bugging you and you want to say you're busy and can't help him this would be better: "Ik ben even bezig, vraag 't aan iemand anders." (I'm busy at the moment, ask someone else.) Or if you're more annoyed: "Zie je niet dat ik bezig ben met iets?" (Can't you see I'm busy with something?) Or if you're super annoyed: "Gast! Ik ben bezig, flikker op." (Dude! I'm busy. Piss off.) Clearly the last one is offensive. :P

Ik heb het druk. >>>> tegenwoordige tijd >>>>correct! Ik had het druk. >>>> onvoltooid verleden tijd >>>> correct! Ik heb het druk gehad. >>>> voltooid verleden tijd >>>> correct! "Ik was het druk" zegt men niet! >>>> This sentence is incorrect!

"Ik heb het druk gehad" is probably right - generally speaking, the simple past tense is translated into the present perfect in Dutch. Ex - "Ik heb het deze week druk gehad op kantoor" --> I've been busy at work this week
