How would you interpret ‘richie’ here? The hell you yell, Asheville has instant coffee now? I might have to come and review the action myself. The boss sends me out on the trail to beat the gums with the richie riches, so they’ll loan out their Picassos for our big shows. Lately he’s been scobo for the Vanderbilts. So wipe your feet on the mat, cat, I might be headed for your roost. How would you interpret ‘richie’ in the phrase: richie riches? Is it some variation of rich?

"Richie Rich" is the name of a comic strip character: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richie_Rich_%28comics%29 Richie Rich's famil is extremely rich. In your post, the author has cleverly used the name of the comic character as a common noun meaning "very rich people." So the speaker is going to beat the gums (slangy idiom for "talk a lot") with the richie riches (extremely rich people).
