What does "Yang sign(s)" and "Yin sign(s)" mean? I tried to find them from my e-dictionary but didn't succeed. (I am very sorry but I find the words from an essay of English here)

It refers to 阳 and 阴. A yin-yang sign is a 太极图. I'd guess a "yin symbol" just the yin half of the symbol.
