It might be easier to think of 'as = ك' and 'like = مثل'. مثال على ذلك: نقول - يعمل اخي كمدير (اذا هو كان مدير) / يعمل اخي مثل مدير (اذا هو كان متسلط). نفس شيء في اللغة الانجليزية. An example of this is: we say - my brother works as a manager (if he is a manager) / my brother works like a manager (if he is bossy). It is the same thing in Arabic.
