what are the words used in Japanese after a girls name, and after a boys name?
I watch a lot of anime, and after a characters name, the person talking to them always adds different words to the end of it. For example, everyone calls this one character Kirito-kun, when his name is just Kirito. I know -kun is used for boys and -chan is used for girls, but are there any others? and if so, which gender do they represent?

just adding to whats been said above. you can also not use any of these ~
all my japanese friends and i just call each other by first names.
but my closest friends i use this;
his name is Yasu, but Kanako and i call him Yasuppii ~ just cause it sounds cute
and same for another guy friend Hiro = Hiroppi
its not an official term but Japanese kids tend to make up nicknames too.
just remember that most, if not all anime you watch is about kids ages 11-17 (even thought they look older haha ) so most of the speech rules won't fit in with the Japanese friends you make in real life.. unless of course you're in that age range. hope it helped ^_^
